I met Kut Throat Rio through one of my former students Anthony Manuel. Rio wanted me to take his picture by the entrance of an abandoned building. We spoke, and laughed, and he posed for a few minutes. He was going to the studio later that evening. That was summer 2017. He was killed in 2020. Never did get to ask him his dream but I always wondered what it was - what was most important to him and it inspired me to start making this series - this exploration.
What is Anthony Manuel’s dream at this point?
